Maulana Muhammad Juna Garhi’s name was actually Muhammad bin Ibrahim Maimon Junagarhi. His title was “Speaker of India.”

Birth:

Born in 1890 in the state of Gujrat in India in a city called Junagarh. Hence, his name includes Junagarhi.

Primary Education:

He obtained his primary education from his birth city of Junagarh after which he left for Delhi and got an admission at Madrasah Ameeneah (Hanifa). Since he was a scholar of hadith, he could not continue there. He then got an admission at Madrasah Dar AlKitab al Sunnah. After prayers, he benefitted from the many scholars at Masjid Phatak Habash Khan.

  • Maulana Abdullah Junah Garhi (Rahimullah)
  • Maulana Abdul Wahab Multani (Rahimullah)
  • Maulana AbdulRaheem Ghaznawi (Rahimullah)
  • Maulana Ishaq Mantaqi (Rahimullah)

Contribution:

  1. After the completion of his education, he established a Madrasah called Madrasah Muhammadia in Delhi for the purpose of the study of Islam.
  2. He published a magazine by the name of ‘Guldasta Muhammadi’ which became so accepted that it converted to a newspaper called ‘Muhammadi.’
  3. In India, he was considered a great caller to Islam (da’ee) and preacher. He is included in the greatest scholars.
  4. Allah (عَزَّوَجَلَّ) blessed him with praiseworthy qualities. He was a powerful speaker, lecturer and an analyst. He was an exceptional teacher, writer and translator also.

Books and Compilation:

In the field of writing, Allah (عَزَّوَجَلَّ) had given him such confidence that he wrote more than 80 books/compilations/publications under the light of Qur’an and Sunnah. All his writings were with the addition of the name of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. For example the titles of his work includes: Imaan e Muhammadi, Tawheed Muhammadi and Seerat Muhammadi. All his work in terms of compilation are valuable and great pieces of writing.

Death:

He died at the age of 51 on Safar 1, 1360H (March 1941) on the night of Friday at 11 pm. May Allah (عَزَّوَجَلَّ) have mercy on his soul. Aameen
